With a zillion people going to con every year the resources can become kind of scarce. The ATM machines are known for running out of money, the food court gets so crowded that it can take you an hour to get lunch. You can always go to one of the bars or restaurants in the hotels, or you can go outside of con to one of the outside restaurants but those get to be quite pricey.
A few years ago CVS put a location in the Peachtree Center. It has been a life saver. The first year, they were so overwhelmed and ran out of almost everything. Since then they have been more than prepared for us. I have even purchased a 24 pack of water and put in the hotel mini fridge. Now that was kind of a disaster. I have to tell you about it. I carried a 24 pack of water from Peachtree over to the Hilton. I was already hot and tired. Honestly, it seemed like it took forever to get back. My back was sore and I was now pissy as well. It can be quite a trek. This year I will take my emptied roller suitcase. CVS coming to Peachtree is only one of the improvements that have made the con even more awesome.
Another helpful tidbit is something I found years ago. There is a not so well kept secret that also helps a bit. In the Sun Trust Center there is another food court. There is a Dunkin Donuts there and several other places as well. This food court is kind of hidden off to the side of con and not everyone knows about it. With this kind of secret place it is by far not as busy as the main food court in Peachtree. You get to the food court by going in the walkway between the Marriott and the Hyatt. If you are going to the Hyatt on the right are some glass doors go through those and follow the smell of food and you will find it right away. There is a drawback, the building is locked down Saturday through Monday. UGG. Still for those folks there before con on Thursday and then on Friday, this is a faster and cheaper way to replenish than the other available options.
I hope you take a look in a few weeks.
